Cannabinoid: A chemical compound found in the cannabis plant that interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. The most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD.
CBD (Cannabidiol): A non-psychoactive cannabinoid known for its potential wellness benefits including anxiety relief and pain management.
Concentrate: A highly potent cannabis product made by extracting cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant. Examples include wax, shatter, rosin, and live resin.
Dab/Dabbing: A method of consuming cannabis concentrates using a heated surface (dab rig) to vaporize the concentrate.
Edible: A food or beverage product infused with cannabis. Effects take 30–90 minutes to onset and can last 4–8 hours.
Flower: The dried, cured bud of the cannabis plant. Also called “bud” or “nug.” The most traditional form of cannabis consumption.
Hybrid: A cannabis strain that combines sativa and indica genetics.
Indica: A cannabis species known for relaxing, body-focused effects. Best for evening use.
Pre-roll: A pre-rolled cannabis cigarette (joint). Convenient and ready to use.
Rosin: A solventless cannabis concentrate made by applying heat and pressure to cannabis flower or hash.
Sativa: A cannabis species known for energizing, uplifting effects. Best for daytime use.
Terpenes: Aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to flavor, aroma, and effects.
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol): The primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis responsible for the “high.”
Tincture: A liquid cannabis extract typically taken sublingually (under the tongue) for fast absorption.
Topical: A cannabis-infused cream, lotion, or balm applied directly to the skin for localized relief.
Vape/Vaporizer: A device that heats cannabis to produce vapor rather than smoke. Available as cartridges, disposables, and dry herb vaporizers.
